Mrs Naomi Newman

I began learning the piano at the age of six, followed by lessons on the violin, flute and voice.  During my gap year, I spent time teaching piano at Musicland in Market Drayton before going on to study Music at Huddersfield University.  Having spent three years studying for a degree and discovering an interest in composition, I stayed on for a further year to complete my Masters in Composition. Since university I have taught piano, violin and flute in a number of primary and secondary schools as well as private tuition which I continue to do alongside my music teaching at Castle House.

When I am not teaching, I am the accompanist of Audlem Voices and Musical Director for the annual musicals at Audlem Methodist Church.  I continue my interest in composition and have written music for four musicals as well as many individual songs, many of which have been tested out on the pupils at Castle House!

When I am not involved in music, I enjoy practising hand lettering and can often be found surrounded by copious amounts of pens and paper.
