The journey begins with Castle House Nursery and Pre-school. In our purpose built facility we provide an educational environment with full day care for children aged between 2 and 4 years old, with a range of flexible sessions from 8.00am to 6.00pm over 50 weeks of the year.

Our staff deliver well balanced, playcentred planning with a wide variety of practical activities and experimental learning. The daily routine offers a combination of child initiated, learner led and staff directed activities all of which help children to develop mentally and socially. During the ‘Educational hour’ children learn phonics, letter formation, French and ICT skills. In addition, weekly routines consist of gym, dance, singing and forest school which are all delivered by specialist teaching staff. We maintain excellent staff / child ratios.

Our experienced team of nursery practitioners strongly believe in ‘Every child matters’ and understand the importance of young learners feeling included, secure and valued. Children are served nutritious hot lunches alongside Castle House Preparatory School pupils, learning appropriate table manners by following the lead of older children. The children have the opportunity to express themselves and develop their confidence whilst maintaining the traditional values of good manners, kindness, self-discipline and respect for others. They grow and flourish in a warm and loving community.

15 hours funding is available to qualifying families with children who have reached their third birthday. Funding is paid at the beginning of the term following a child’s third birthday. This funding must be taken over a minimum of 3 days. ‘Government funding is intended to cover the cost of 15 hours a week of high quality childcare. It is not intended to cover the cost of meals, consumables, additional hours or additional services’(DFE 2017). At Castle House School our Nursery provision includes significant ‘extras’ which are not normally part of a package for three and four year olds, consequently your invoice will be based on the tariff chosen above with the funding deducted from the overall charge. Parents are expected to pay the difference. The current level of funding for 15 hours childcare in Telford and Wrekin is £4.20 per hour, therefore for all qualifying children £63.00 will be deducted from the invoice *(15 hours at £4.20 per hour)

Please note for children booked for 38 week care, but who attend Nursery in the holidays for extra sessions and who are of Nursery age, these will be charged at the above rate. Priority for places during holidays is given to those children who attend for 50 weeks due to the regulations in the EYFS for supervision ratios
